What does a Home Inspection Include?
Your home inspection begins outside of the house. The home inspector will be examining:
- Landscaping and its affect on the foundation
- Siding, trim, windows and trim
- Roof
- Chimney
- Flashing
- Guttering
- Downspouts
- Electrical connections to the house
- Sidewalks, driveway, patio and deck
Now let’s go to inside of your new dream home. The home inspector will be looking at and operating:
- Appliances
- Walls, floors, ceilings and windows
- Sinks, faucets, showers, tubs and toilets. Run them all while in the house.
- Water supply and water heater
- Heating and cooling system
- Electrical panel
- Attic
- Visible foundation in the basement
As an added service to you, we also include with your inspection a “RecallChek”. Your inspector will include in your report the make, model number and serial number of all your appliances, HVAC equipment, water heater (basically anything with a model number and serial number). This information is forwarded to RecallChek who will run them through their extensive database of recalled appliances. They will send a report out of any known recalls. This is just another feature “For Your Peace of Mind” that we provide before you make this major purchase!
Throughout this process, you are encouraged to follow your home inspector, asking any questions that you might have about your new home. We are there to inspect your house, but we always strive for it to be a learning experience as well. We often hear realtors and clients say that they learn something new at every home inspection.
